Book Design

Book design for The Hidden Cost of Meat which aims to reveal the damaging effects of large-scale meat production. The challenge was presenting a high volume of detailed information in a way that respects the reader’s time and attention. I built a layout system with modular grids, subtle visual cues, and layered imagery that guide the eye through text and visuals, creating moments of clarity and visual interest across each spread.

A black and white hardcover book titled "The Hidden of Meat" resting on a white surface, with part of a red lined edge visible at the bottom.
Open magazine with an article titled 'NARROWING FLORIDIVERSITY' and a black-and-white artistic image of a bird with a human arm raised.
A black-and-white image of a farm with a fence and livestock, overlaid with large red text reading 'Pollution & Depletion' and smaller red text 'Fertilizer & Corn'. Below is a paragraph discussing fertilizer pollution and its environmental impact, along with a definition of slurry.
Image of medication bottles with large, bold, orange text reading 'Misuse of Antibiotics', and smaller text discussing the dangers of antibiotics, including the cause of death from scratched knee and the importance of proper antibiotic use.
